Blue Flower

Dear Guests!

Welcome to my house!

For me, the perfect vacation is the one where everything goes easy. This is the ambition of our rentals.

1. Pay deposit and arrive without having to meet us at a specific time. Time is all yours!

You tell us in advance your approximate arrival time, so that we can cool the house on a sunny day or the opposite.

Would you rather check in as in a hotel apartment? Then we will set a specific time for you to be there and the checkin fee will be a payment for 45 min to get to the house and talk to you. We need copy of passports for everyone staying in the house and the price is 500 SEK. If you are delayed, we have to charge you 750 an hour.

2. Covid or just low cost? Bring your own duvets, pillows and towels or prebook for self cost price. 50 per person for the first night and 25 for every other nights.

3. Easy stay in the house!

Access to bathing is made easier by removing one of the doors. Everything in the house for the kitchen is almost brandnew. You have both heating and aircondition and you have your own parking. In central Malmö, parking for one day is about 240 SEK.

I hope that you will enjoy your stay and have a good time. You willl be staying in what is my dream. For many years I have dreamt about bying a house at Strandhem, I finally did and I am happy to share it with you.

We do not stay in the house, but live about five minutes away from the house and are happy to help you and respect your privacy.

The house

The house is small and currently in the process of slowly being renovated. All beds, linned, plates, towels, Microwawe etc. are completely new.

The area is quite upscale and houses here are rented out for very high figures. I have choosen to share the house with you, before upgrading and giving you the opportunity to enjoy the area at a much lower cost. I hope you will appreciate!

I call the house the "grandmothers home". It looks like visiting your grandmother, it is cosy, far from modern and very relaxing. Do not breake into tears if a plate goes broken in this house, here everything is really relaxed.

One important thing! - Never turn on the fireplace. It will probably set the house on fire...

The Rooms

The house is small and I often find it amazing how much space and rooms can be in so few squaremeters. The biggest bedroom holds a 1.40 m bed and even has a in wall dressing room. The smallest bedroom holds a 70 cm bed and barely much else, but nevertheless, there is a small desk and also a cupboard.

The kitchen includes a compact stove, water boiler, coffeemachine, fridge and Microowen. Everything is easy. If you cook, please open the window so that the house will not smell of the cooking afterwards.

Make sure you clean the kitchen after each use and when you checkout.

The bathroom holds the toilet and a shower and an automatic fan. The switch is blocked, as the fan is automatic, so it should always be on.

Washing Clothes

If you need to wash clothes, this can be arranged. The price is 15 EUR for washing.

Internet

There is free wifi in the house and in the garden with high speed. Please respect the freedom though and use the net carefully.

Pickup for payment

If I am available I can arrange pick up at the Hyllie Station, Sturup Airport or other places in Sweden, for a payment that is slightly cheaper than Taxi. Pickup at Hyllie is 10 EUR, a cap is about 15-20 EUR.

If I am available in Copenhagen, even pickup from the Airport is possible.

Hiring Car, Bike, Kajak, Boat, SUP, Playstation, VR, Computer etc.

There is very little that we will not be able to rent you:-), but please prebook otherwise we cannot guarantee you availability. You can rent tennisequipment, bikes, kajaks, barbecue grill, cotton candy/popcorn/bubble Waffle machines just to give you examples.

Breakfast and other arrangements

Only if prebooked or we are available.

Cheaper ticket for the Oresund Bridge by Car

If you plan to cross the bridge to Copenhagen by car, I can sell you a ticket for 456 SEK, the normal price is 650 SEK. https://www.oresundsbron.com/sv/priser

The Area

You are now living in Bunkeflostrand, which is close to both Malmö and Copenhagen. The whole area used to be almost only farming, but when the bridge was built, the area was made attractive for people that either live in Sweden and work in Denmark or want to be close to Denmark. Therefore, most houses have been built within the last 5-10 years.

Strandhem was founded in 1939 by one of the founders of the, today, large public housing companies (HSB) and there are 339 houses. The area got electricity in 1962. In 1986 the water went all the way up to the fourth road (you are living on the third, so you would have been safe). After that draining was installed and a protecting wall against the sea, which you will see when you go towards the bathing bridge. Now you know why it is there...In 1995, all houses became regular houses but all being members in the Strandhem Community. In 2005 the protecting wall against the sea is raised to 2.5 meter.

If you are arriving in Summer, this picture might seem far away, but the sea is good for many sports activities, all around the year.

In summer, you can swim out 500 m from the bathing bridge and you will see a small floating "island", ready for you to board it with your friends. Another 500 m out, the next one is waiting for you.

I love this area and I am happy to share it with you. In Strandhem there is also, tenniscourt, football field, basketball, playground - all waiting for you to enjoy it.

In fact, Malmö has only two preserved areas and a third one to come. All three are in the area in which you live and are in front of the house, the limestone area (close to the supermarket) and Klagshamn (which you can see from the house).

https://malmo.se/Kultur--fritid/Idrott--fritid/Natur--friluftsliv/Natur--parker/Naturreservat/Bunkeflo-strandangar.html

Fishing is popular in the area around the bridge and towards Sibbarp.

The Oresund bridge is walking distance from here and from there you can continue to both Sibbarp and Limhamn. There are many restaurants in Limhamn and there are two pizzaplaces in Bunkeflostrand, the best one would be the one which is right next to the ICA Supermarket.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%98resund_Bridge

From the house you can go directly to the bathing bridge, just go towards the sea. You can also walk to the bridge. The walk takes about 25 minutes. On the way you will see the nature area. From the highest area you can oversee the whole area and even look to Copenhagen if the weather allows for it.

You can continue to the camping place "Sibbarp" and even the City Limhamn and if you continue from there, you will be at the Malmö beach. There is also a tower for watching birds and the nature, which you will see along the way.

At the bridge is also a MTB track, with varying difficulties.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/340751032937710/

There is a small sandarea just before the bridge and a larger beach at Sibbarp. The sandarea is just in front of the bridge and you walk down three meters from the path. The big beach in Malmö is at Ribersborg and continuing to Västra Hamnen.

By the sea area there is also a football and basket playing field, that you can use. There are balls in the house.

If you walk past the ICA Supermarket you will reach the path that goes around the Limhamn limestone quarry. It is basically a large hole in the ground due to the limestone being used. The hole is big enough to hold a smaller city

Limhamns kalkbrott mars 2015-1.jpghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limhamns_kalkbrott

To the other side you will reach the area "Strandhem", which has a bathing bridge, which you can see from the house. Continuing further you will reach Klagshamn where the Harbour is and also a sand beach where you can buy icecream. The whole area will become a preserved area soon.

https://malmo.se/Kultur--fritid/Idrott--fritid/Natur--friluftsliv/Natur--parker/Naturreservat/Klagshamnsudden.html

You can also rent a bike, there are several to choose from, price starts at 3Euro a day. You can also rent SUP or a Kajak, from 10 EUR a day or even a Hoverboard. Hoverboard is 10 EUR for an hour.

The roads from Klagshamn and forward are used heavily by roadbikes, as there is less traffic and beautiful nature. Passing Klagshamn in that direction you can go to Skanör, which has beautiful beach and Höllviken, which has a Wiking Village Center.

Eating and Shopping nearby

At the trainstation is also Emporia, the largest shopping mall in the nordics. You can find it here:

https://emporia.steenstrom.se/ At Emporia there are a number of restaurants, coffees and fast food opportunities.

You can shop at the local supermarket which is at the roundabout, about 6 minutes walk from the busstop. Here is the link for the local supermarket:

https://www.ica.se/butiker/supermarket/malmo/ica-supermarket-bunkeflostrand-2768/start/

In Sibbarp there is a good restaurant close to the

beach: https://www.strandhusetisibbarp.se/

There is also a beautiful view from the 16th level at the Skybar, at the hotel 100 m from Hyllie Trainstation.

http://www.malmoarenahotel.com/skajbar.aspx'

There is also an interesting restaurant in front of the limestone area (that you just read about). You can find this at

http://www.fourgardens.se

In the summer you can also rent access to the gas barbecue in the garden for 5 euro. It is a Weber grill where you can cook almost anything.

Commuting to Malmö or Copenhagen

You can take the train to both cities, from Hyllie, the nearby trainstation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyllie_railway_station

There is an app skanetrafiken, which you can download to your phone - input your destination and where you want to go and it will help you, including buying the ticket!

Bus 6 goes to Hyllie, the train to Copenhagen Airport is 12 min and to Copenhagen Central Station takes 22 min and about 10 minutes to Malmö. Bus 4 goes all the way to the center of Malmö. Copenhagen is about 4 times as big as Malmö and commuting around a larger city will take some time.

In the Swedish busses you can buy the JOJO card at the trainstation for 20 SEK and then you load it with a value.

I have some cards loaded with 150 SEK, which you can buy for 200 SEK, which is a 30 SEK surcharge. You can also use the card for buying the ticket to Copenhagen directly in the bus. The ticket to Copenhagen includes the busride in both Malmö and also in Copenhagen, just keep the card with you. The Card also gives you a 10% discount on the ticket to Copenhagen.

There are even sharing drives, if you are lucky, between the areas and much further. They can be found at gomore.dk

At Hyllie Station you will find the Shopping Center Emporia, The Skybar at the Hotel (with great views) and the indoor swimming and bathing Center. A bit farther away, you will find IKEA.

Malmö and Surroundings

Malmö is a beautiful City and basically starts with Limhamn, close to here and then continues with Ribersborg, where the beach is, Västra Hamnen, where the high building "The Turning Torso" is. In the center of the City is Lilla torget, where people are always gathering as it is full of cafes and restaurants.

The city is close to the water, no matter where you go, in fact half of the Malmö area is ocean. Malmö is still spacious and close to where we live there are places where you can play golf.

The newest addition is a "green passage", where you can go through the whole of Malmö, from where you live, to the central park in Malmö

Forests, Castles and reminders of the ancient periods are everywhere. A not so far forest area with many activities can be found underneath

https://malmo.se/Kultur--fritid/Idrott--fritid/Natur--friluftsliv/Natur--parker/Natur--och-rekreationsomraden/Torup/Aktiviteter-och-evenemang.html

There is even a webpage dedicated to places there are useful for taking your wedding photo!

https://malmo.se/Kultur--fritid/Idrott--fritid/Natur--friluftsliv/Natur--parker/Parker/Vigselplatser.html

Shopping malls are at Trianglen and Hansa Company, just behind Gustav Adolfs Torg and of course, Emporia at the Hyllie nearby station.

Malmö is part of the region in Sweden called Skåne and is known for its many nature areas including various forests where there are planned works of varying lenghts and hiking.

Beautiful places nearby would be Sandby, you will need a car to go there.

Farther away there is a numerous amounts of forests for camping, nature, hiking. You can also go to caves and even Dales Stenar:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ale%27s_Stones

There is this page, that shows current activities and lots of informations about Malmö

http://www.malmotown.com/en/

Most activities in Malmö are rather close, by bus or even by bike. Especially with an Electric bike you will go very far, very quickly.

Sweden - a bit further upnorth?

Sweden obviously offers many opportunities, for those of you travelling by car - and maybe on your way up north. Here are a few examples;

https://www.svartabergen.com/om-svarta-bergen/

Oresund

You are now living in the Oresund Zone. This is a zone that is basically between two countries, Sweden and Denmark. In Sweden they use Swedish Crowns and in Denmark... Danish Crowns. You can find the exchange rate here

http://www.valutakurser.dk/

If you need help with exchange or want to exchange your USD or EURO into SEK or DKK, I can help you.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen consists of the primary central townparts, - Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Østerport, Frederiksberg and Amager. Amager is the first part and is where the Airport is located. The train to the Airport takes 12 min from Hyllie. From here you can take the Metro, which will take you through Amager and then to Christianshavn, where i.e. Christiania is located. From Christianshavn the center of the City with the pedestrian shopping street is walking distance away (like 10 min).

You can also continue with the train to the Central Station, the train ride will take 22 min from Hyllie. From the Central Station you will have Tivoli, The Carlsberg Glyptotek and the National Museum within walking distance.

There are also busses between Malmö and Denmark.

http://graahundbus.dk/999-koebenhavn-malmo-centrum (Is close to 50% cheaper than the train)

https://www.flixbus.se/bussresor/malmoe-koepenhamn (also very cheap, but I think it only goes to central malmö)

Remember that Copenhagen is capital city, although one of the smaller countries in the world. Expect travelling time within Copenhagen to be easily 30 min to go from different parts of the city to other parts of the city. Most people, within Copenhagen will expect at least 30-45 minutes to go from their home to their work. From the house, your distance will be greater than for most, but the train is faster.

Going by bike is a big thing, as you will see in Copenhagen. It is so big, that there are now "Bikequees" in the morning and intelligent traffic signals that will tell cyclists to choose different routes through the city.

The largest mall in Copenhagen is Fields, which is located one stop before the Copenhagen Central Station, when you ride the train.

If you want to go even further North, there are beautifull places to go, like the Castle of Shakespeare (Kronborg http://kongeligeslotte.dk/en/palaces-and-gardens/kronborg-castle.html)

There is also the art center Louisiana https://en.louisiana.dk/

There is a page which shows current activities in Copenhagen:

http://www.aok.dk/english

Other opportunities for rent

If you are interested, I also have a garden house for rent in  in Copenhagen and an apartment in Gran Canaria (San Agustin).
